April 11, 2014Supercar manufacturer Ferrari, yes that Ferrari, are gearing up to build and open its first luxury hotel. According to HotelChatter, the hotel will be built just outside of Barcelona. Oh and we forgot to mention, the hotel will be opening alongside Ferrari Land, a Ferrari orientated theme park.

Located in Vals, Switzerland, the property is situated among mountain houses. However, you do have to look very carefully, otherwise you could miss it, as it does have a very unusual design.

July 04, 2014A design team in Germany have managed to get robots to construct an interlocking timber structured building. The Landesgartenschau Exhibition Hall in Stuttgart has been designed with 240 individual segments of plywood made from beech wood using a fabrication method that involves robots. The structure used 12 cubic metres of timber in its construction and measure 17 meters tall by 245 meters.

July 10, 2014The Brighton Waste House as it has been named has now opened at the Graduate Show. The inspirational eco-house is situated at the Grand Parade campus at the University of Brighton. Duncan Baker-Brown along with the co-founder of Freegle, Cat Fletcher, was behind the unusual project. The house was made from waste materials, which included more than 20, 000 toothbrushes.

The house was built by Dunn and Hillam in Alice Springs, Australia, and has received honours from the Australian Institute of Architects.

July 10, 2014China could soon be home to two of the world’s tallest towers if a concept from Chetwoods Architects has anything to do with it. The UK based architect firm have designed the Phoenix Towers concept, which would be located in Wuhan, Central China. The bigger of the two of the towers would be taller than the Burj Khalifa at 1km in height and would feature plenty of sustainable technology.

July 11, 2014Karin Matz, an architect from Sweden, found a storage room and came up with the idea of turning the small space into a multi-purpose mini home. The space had not been touched for more than 30 years and is just 36 sq m. Now it has been transformed into a compact home that is filled with light.
