The first flights on United's Star Wars themed airplane launched earlier this month, celebrating the upcoming movie release of "The Rise of Skywalker."

The flight touched off the ground in Houston, Texas, jetting passengers and stormtroopers to Orlando, Florida.

With its airplanes, United is giving fans and non-fans alike a completely new experience when taking to the friendly skies. In this case, it was the not so friendly skies depending on whether you're with The Resistance or the First Order.

When United announced its "Star Wars" themed Boeing 737-800 in late October, it said passengers will be gifted with "The Rise of Skywalker" themed amenity kits and treated to a safety video demonstration from some of the characters in the film.

Passengers also hear classic Star Wars music during the boarding process. The interior of the plane is decorated with plaques and headrests affixed with emblems from the movie. Passengers get to sit with either the Resistance or the First Order.

Upon arrival, they are greeted by more stormtroopers waiting for passengers in the lobby.

The exterior of the plane is an impressive homage to the final film in the Skywalker Saga. Featuring good and evil on each side of the plane.

With the "Rise of Skywalker" debuting in December, Star War's craze is mounting. United is capitalizing on that, even offering exclusive perks to its MileagePlus members including access to premiere screenings of the film. The planes will fly throughout the U.S., Canada, Central America, and the Caribbean.
